James "Jim" ReuterJuly 23, 1938 - June 5, 2025
Princeton - James "Jim" Reuter, 86, of Princeton, IL, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at Goldwater Care in Princeton, surrounded by his loving, devoted family.
Jim was born on July 23, 1938, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, to Richard and Helen Reuter. A hardworking man of many talents, Jim spent his life as a farmer, a construction worker, and most passionately, a truck driver. He was especially proud of his years with Zibert Transport and Consolidated Freightways in Peru, IL, and was a long-standing member of Teamsters Local 722.
He had a deep love for the outdoors. He cherished camping and fishing trips, winters spent traveling in his motorhome, and above all, a good round of golf. He loved the holidays and any time spent surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Veronica Reuter of Princeton, IL; and their seven children: Kevin (Sandy) Reuter of Princeton, IL; Kathy (Rick) Strand of Oglesby, IL; Kraig Reuter of Princeton, IL; Curt (Lynette) Reuter of Princeton, IL; Curtiss (Jenny) Reuter of Walnut, IL; Mike Reuter and his partner Renee Hoffman of Henry, IL; and Stacy (Steve) Beattie of Standard, IL. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings: Norene (Leo) Clerkin of Barneveld, WI; Connie (Roger) Evers of Milburn, OK; Robert (Diane) Reuter of Surprise, AZ; Richard (Linda) Reuter of Fort Wayne, ID; Cynathia Faust of Madison, WI and Pat (John) Bowen of Highland, WI. He was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Cutler; his parents, Richard and Helen; a brother in infancy, Paul Harvey; granddaughter, Abby Marie; grandparents; and brother-in-law, John Bowen.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments in Princeton, IL.
Memorial Service to follow on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.
Private graveside services at a later date and time.
Jim's smile was contagious, and his sense of humor unforgettable-you truly never knew what he was going to say. He will be missed beyond words and remembered with deep love by all who had the joy of knowing him.
