Mr. James Marshall Reynolds, age 82, of Boydton, Virginia, entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
Born on October 12, 1942, in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, Marshall was the beloved son of the late Isaac Reynolds and Susie Mae Royster. He received his education through the Mecklenburg County public schools. For over 30 years he was employed as a Boiler Plant Operator at the Mecklenburg Correctional Center until his retirement.
A member of the Saddle Club of Mecklenburg County, Mr. Reynolds found great joy in the outdoors. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter, and horseman, and spent countless hours enjoying the simple pleasures of nature and rural life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, nine siblings, and a host of beloved aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Carolyn of the home, his children, James Reynolds (Bernice) of Chesterfield, VA, William Reynolds of Winston-Salem, NC, Gloria Reynolds (Miguel) of St. Cloud, FL, Wanda Reynolds (Rodney) of Boydton, VA, Wilson L. Royster of Kentucky, Charles Reynolds, (Shantel) of Clayton, NC. Stevie E. Reynolds (Barbara) of Chesterfield, VA, Michael Reynolds (Frances) of Durham, NC, Leeanna Jackson (Bradley) of Bkackstone, VA, Terick Bowers of LaCrosse, VA, Melissa Reed of Richmond, VA, six stepchildren, Dennis Tucker (Elke) of Manassas, VA Kenneth Tucker of Durham, NC, Marie Webb (Claiborne) of Durham, NC, Della Braschi of Wake Forest, NC, Markeze Jeffries and Keyon Simmons of the home; 21 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren; one brother, Wilson Reynolds of Irvington, NJ; and a vast number of other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA, with Elder Charles D. Allen officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery in Skipwith, VA.
Public viewing for family and friends will take place Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Online condolences may be expressed at www.harrisfhc.com.
