James C. Richeson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025.

Born on July 21, 1936, to Oral Rolla Richeson and Myrtle Irene Aubuchon, Jim lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family, his work, and his many passions. On October 21, 1954, he married the love of his life, Dorothy, beginning a beautiful journey of 70 years filled with unwavering love, partnership, and countless cherished memories.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1956. After completing his service, he returned home and worked on the railroad - an experience that reflected his strong work ethic and hands-on nature. In 1968, Jim and his family relocated from O”Fallon, Illinois to Dallas, Texas, marking a new chapter.

In Dallas, Jim worked alongside his brother, Dale, for several years - fostering both a professional partnership and deepening their relationship. Eventually, Jim founded the James C. Richeson Company, where he spent 20 years as a successful and respected manufacturer’s representative in the electrical supply industry. Upon retirement, he embraced his love for craftsmanship by starting a home remodeling business, blending his practical skills with his strong work ethic.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Oral Richeson and Myrtle Aubuchon, his stepmother, Katherine Richeson, and by his five brothers and four sisters.

A true family man, Jim is survived by his devoted wife Dorothy, and their daughters Janet Richeson and Susan Richeson. He was the proud grandfather of five cherished grandchildren: Erin (Lance) Wilson, Ryan (Daniela) Dempsey, Alexandra (Scott) Moore, Jessica Mayeux, and James Cunningham, as well as nine beloved great-grandchildren who all brought him immeasurable pride and joy. He is also remembered by many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

He and Dottie enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Austria, Italy, France, England, Germany, and Switzerland—gathering stories and memories along the way. At home, he found joy in his hobbies: collecting coins, model trains, and antique cars and trucks.

To know Jim was to know kindness and a love that ran deep. He was a man of integrity, generosity, and warmth.

His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

There will be a memorial service Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11am at Temple Baptist Church 1813 Barron Rd. Poplar Bluff, Mo.
