James R. Ripke, age 78, of the Town of Saratoga, WI, died Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at StoneBridge Bible Church (611 Cook Avenue) in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Dr. William Torgesen III will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Wisconsin Rapids American Legion Post #9. Visitation will be held at the Church on Tuesday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.
James was born April 29, 1945 in Neillsville, WI to Harley and Pearl (Greip) Ripke. James proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1965. He married Dorothy Mae Sagen on November 13, 1965 in Neillsville, WI. James was employed by Domtar and worked on the generators and as a Load Dispatcher for many years until his retirement. He lived his life for Jesus Christ 1st. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, restoring cars, racing motorcycles and doing gardening. He was a member of the Wood County Rifle and Pistol Club and the Wilderness Sportsman's Club.
James is survived by his wife Dorothy Ripke of Town of Saratoga, WI, children: Harley (Mary) Ripke of Ladysmith, WI, Laura (Dan) Delaney of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Paula Ripke of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Jane Ripke of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister Donna (Larry) McLaughlin of Lake Placid, FL and is further survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lynn Martin, grandchildren: Rebekah Delaney and Austin Ripke.
