James Roberts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farewell Funeral Service - Palm Bluffs on Jan. 7, 2026.
James Charles Roberts also known as Jim by his family, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 10, 2025 at the age of 66 in his home in Fresno, California. James was born in Fortuna, California and raised in Salinas, California. He met the love of his life while attending Alisal high school and later joined the Army in 1976. James was a private first class and was honorably discharged in 1979. He then spent the next 24 years looking for his high school girl friend and love of his life Julie.

During this time he married and divorced twice and never had any biological children. Once James found Julie he made sure he never left her again. They stayed together for 22 years until his passing. He took to raising Julie's daughter as his own. During the 24 years he lived in Oregon and then back to California.

James always helped other people when he saw that they needed it and he could do something to help them. He often would give his own clothes, blankets, and food to help others. James worked as a diesel truck mechanic and often worked on the side of the busy freeways. He also worked as a chef at one point in his life. He loved to go watch the drag car races at the Famoso race track. James also loved to travel to places he had not been before and experience new things.

James leaves behind his wife Julie Woodworth, step-daughter Amanda Lodeesen, daughter-in-law Antionette Fuller, and granddaughter Jazmyne Fuller. He also leaves behind two half-brothers Randy Roberts and Alan Roberts.

The family is choosing to hold a small private service.
