In Loving Memory of James Daniel Rocha
July 27, 1968 - October 6, 2025
James Daniel Rocha, born to Kathleen Marie Daugherty and Thomas Daniel Rocha in St. Paul, Minnesota, on July 27, 1968, passed away while surrounded by his family at home in Powder Springs, Georgia, on October 6, 2025. The world lost a bright light and a bigger-than-life personality with James’ passing. There is no man more passionate about or devoted to his family than James was. He was tireless in his determination to support his family and to guide and teach his daughters, Chloe Grace and Madelyn Marie. Dad was their biggest cheerleader in all aspects, whether it be in their elementary school talent show (which they won doing a duet choreographed by James!), their academic successes, their dedication to doing their best on the volleyball court or staying on the right path in life by following God. James was immensely proud of his girls. James was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Mary Lloyd “Molly” Rocha (née Shuff), to whom he was married for twenty-one years. He was Molly’s one true love and best friend. James is also survived by his sister, Jeanna Gordon (Alex), several nieces and a nephew. James always put his family first.
James made many friends throughout his life, and he treated them like family. He cherished every one of his family members and friends and would do anything to help any one of them. He loved being out and about, going on new adventures and meeting new people, making yet more friends along the way. He was an awesome story teller and he relished in making people laugh. James, Molly, Chloe and Madelyn went on many road trips together, exploring familiar and new places near and far. Though his time here was far too short, James had a zest for life, a fearless attitude and a love for those around him that will never fade. His legacy lives on in his beautiful daughters, in the stories that he shared and in his passion to live life to the fullest. As James loved to say, “The Best is Yet to Come.”
A reception for James’ incredible life and family will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at RiverStone Church at 2005 Stilesboro Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30152. Family and friends are invited to gather to share their memories and honor the man who taught us all a bit more about how to live life to the fullest. James, we love you to the moon and back.
