James Lee “Jimmy” Rushing, age 63, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on July 14, 2025 after a hard-fought health battle. Born on June 2, 1962, in Shreveport, Louisiana to James Paul and Doreen Atkinson Rushing, Jimmy was known for his skilled hands and unwavering commitment to his craft and community.
A Certified Master Locksmith, Jimmy owned and operated A & A Locksmith in Shreveport, Louisiana for many years, earning the trust and appreciation of countless customers with his professionalism, and integrity.
Jimmy is survived by his loving family: his sister Debbie and her husband Benny; his brother Mark and his wife Cherrie; and his nieces and nephews—Chad Rushing, Christi Turner, Jennifer Lucas, and Michael Motschman. He also leaves behind great-nieces and great-nephews: Jordan Lucas, Mia Lucas, Jayce Turner, Peyton Motschman, Callie Turner, and Tessa Lucas. Jimmy is also remembered fondly by extended family in both England and Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Doreen Rushing.
A memorial service celebrating Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or memorial donation of your choice.
