James Edward Sassin Jr.

1961 - 2021

James "Jimmy" Edward Sassin, Jr., ascended into his eternal life on September 12, 2021. He was born on January 27, 1961, in Texas City, Texas to the late Barbara Lynette Sassin and James Edward Sassin, Sr. Jimmy enjoyed working on cars, cooking, grilling and taking long drives in his truck. Jimmy was famous for making his homemade chili and barbeque ribs. He worked in the chemical field for 37 years. He met the love of his life Tammy in 1980, and they were married on June 26, 1982. They were married for 39 wonderful years. Jimmy was an exceptional father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and cooking for them. He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Sassin; their children Brandon Sassin (Miranda), Ryan Sassin and Lindsay Sassin; his five grandchildren Kaylyn, Peyton, Macie, Briana, and Jace. Jimmy is also survived by one brother Jeffrey Sassin, Sr. (Louise). He is preceded in death by his mother and sister, Catherine Denise Sassin. He was also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends and will miss him dearly. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service in the parlor of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 11 AM. Interment St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Luling, La. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until funeral time.
