James Neal "Jim" Schofield, age 80, of Camden passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born January 14, 1945 in Marion, OH to Frank and Alfreda (Severns) Schofield. He married Lynn Babcock on December 30, 1962, and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2023.
Jim was retired from Moore Business Forms in Angola and had also worked at Essex Wire and Bilcore Plastics in Hillsdale. Jim was a skilled woodworker and also enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns and working on jigsaw puzzles. He was a sharp euchre player, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing board games with them. Jim proudly served his country in the US Army as a paratrooper in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include three daughters, Teresa (Jim) Leising, Shannon Dobbs and Wendy (Jarrod Hodge) Thorp; grandchildren, Bion Bertrand, Laira (Eric Benson) Thompson, Dyllan Dobbs, Dalton (Kathleen) Dobbs, Dacoda Dobbs, Llyssa Dobbs, McKenna Leising and Jeremy, Brittany, Kade and Lydia McGraw; great-grandchildren, Benson Najar, Liam Benson, Maliki Dobbs, Emmalyn Dobbs and Layla Benson; and brother, Bill Schofield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lynn Schofield; daughter, Vicki McGraw; grandson, Derreck Dobbs; and siblings, Rose, Margaret, Ralph, Frank, Jr. and Dallas Schofield.
There will be no services or calling hours for James Schofield at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
