James Franklin Scoggin, 63, of Achille, Oklahoma, passed from this life on August 17, 2025. He was born on May 24, 1962, in Perryton, Texas, to James Henry Scoggin and Winona Estellene Scoggin (Brewer). James attended and graduated from Achille Public School. James was a member of Achille Baptist Church in his childhood years. He was a certified mechanic and enjoyed working on things. He was good at what he did and took pride in his work. James was a member of the Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting deer, hogs, and turkey. He enjoyed watching wildlife, especially deer and only killed when food was needed. James is preceded in death by his father; James Henry Scoggin and brother; Boyd H. Scoggin. Left to cherish his memory are his mother; Winona Estellene Scoggin of Achille, OK, cousin; Dana Scoggin of Hickory Creek, TX, cousin; Russ Stotts of Kingston, OK, cousin; Jeff Hill of Maypearl, TX, cousin; Dawn Shonks of Lake Dallas, TX, and aunt; Della Farrar or Maypearl, TX. A funeral service for James will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at Brown's Funeral Service chapel with Roger Speers officiating. Interment will take place at Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, OK, following the service with Billy Williams, Tim Scoggins, Dana Scoggin, Brandon Bridges, Goob Bridges, and Russ Stotts serving as pallbearers.
