James Harold Singleton, III, 79, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away May 21, 1943. He was born June 14, 1943 in Laredo, Texas to the late James Harold Singleton Jr. and the late Emma Dancause.
James served in the United States Air Force for 13 years and then attended Okaloosa Walton Junior College. He then attended University of West Florida and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, specializing in elementary physical education. James loved running, sports (watching and coaching) and even learned to drive a bus, which was scary. He and his co-worker, Ms. D, started the Gulf Breeze Running Club which is still going strong today!
James is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Boone of Crestview, Florida, Angela Singleton Vest of Mary Esther, Florida, Evelia Singleton Hooks of Pensacola, Florida; Granddaughters, Viktoria Singleton of Pensacola, Florida, Hannah Vest of Navarre, Florida, Emma Vest of Mary Esther, Florida, Penny Hooks of Pensacola, Florida; Grandson, Calvin Hooks of Pensacola, Florida and sister, Tennie Dickey of Laredo, Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 14th at 6:30 PM at Gulf Breeze Elementary Café with Pastor Joe Prestridge and Pastor Matt Burkett officiating.
