James P. Stanley, 85, of Union Township passed away the evening of May 18, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Castle on March 30, 1940, Jim was the son of the late Earl and Anna Perrett Stanley.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, the former Nonie Coulter. The two were married on May 23, 1959.
Jim had worked as a Railroad Engineer for thirty- two years for Conrail and then Norfolk Southern Railroads.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Jim loved sports and was an avid Union Sports Fan. In the early years Jim was a longtime Union Little League coach. He was also an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed working on, restoring and rebuilding cars. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Jim's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his five children, Beth Hannon (Bob), John Stanley, Mark Stanley (Beth), Tricia Jacobs (Chris) and Jaime Joseph (Michael), his brother, Earl Stanley and his sister, Patricia Colucci, twelve grandchildren, Craig Hannon (Marissa), Noelle Hannon, Melinda Powell (Ryan), Mallory Jacobs, Nicholas Jacobs, Anthony Stanley, Matthew Stanley, Mark Stanley, Lucas Stanley, Maggie Joseph, Sara Joseph and Gary Joseph, four great-grandchildren, Kennedy Hannon, Max Hannon, Maverick Hannon and Audrey Powell.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Stanley and two sisters, Helen Wilson and Mary Ann Noviello.
Honoring his wishes a private Blessing Service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Father John Gizler will officiate.
Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
