A Graveside Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester, OK.
James was born on February 23, 1936 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Theodore Steidley and Beatrice (Shelton) Steidley.
James proudly served his country in the United States Navy and subsequently protected his community as a firefighter in McAlester until his retirement. His skilled hands not only fought flames but also crafted beauty as an avid carpenter.
Beyond his service, James cherished the outdoors, indulging his passion for fishing. Whether watching tournaments or simply enjoying the serenity of the water, he found solace and delight in this pastime.
He is celebrated in memory by his loving sons, Greg Steidley and his wife, Cheryl, and Steve Steidley. His legacy further lives on through numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
James is preceded in death by his daughter, Jonie Crawley; parents, Theodore Steidley and Beatrice Steidley; and his sister, Sandra Lester.
