Mr. James L. "Pat" Sutton, 78, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at AdventHealth-Gordon after a brief illness.
Mr. Sutton was born on May 6, 1944 in Bartow County, GA. He was the son of the late Vernie Lee Sutton and Gordia Fowler Sutton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Sutton Sr; two sisters, Mary Dutton and Bettie Harrison.
Mr. Sutton lived the greater part of his life in Gordon County, GA and prior to retirement he was employed by Astro Dye Inc., as plant manager for more than 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Hammonds Sutton to whom he was married for 23 years; six daughters, Tracy Sutton Barton and her husband, Charles "Bart" Barton, Renee Sutton McGaskey and her husband Danny, Michelle Sutton Hutcherson, Keisha Sutton Johnston and her husband Jay, Beth Blankenship and Daisy Sutton; three sons, Brian Brown, Joe Brown and his wife Hannah and Casey Brown and Heather Brookshire; sister, Delilah "Bobbie" Adcock; grandchildren, Madison McDearis, Bailey McDearis, Carson McDearis, Ian Hutcherson, Derek Everett, Cole Barton, Alec McGaskey, Reid McGaskey, Brody Johnston, Kallie Brown, Mason Brown, Kyla Blankenship, Caleb Blankenship, Jackson Brown, JoAnna Brown, Jace Brown; great-grandchild, Dylan Everett.
The funeral service for Mr. James L. "Pat" Sutton will be conducted on Thursday, April 20th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. James Gravitte officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 19th between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in memory of Pat Sutton to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
