James Alton Taylor, Jr.

A memorial service for Mr. James Alton Taylor, Jr., 75, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, 61 New Chapel Hill Rd., West Monroe 71291, with Pastor Scott O’Rear officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe.

Mr. Taylor was born on September 30, 1950, and passed away on November 20, 2025. He was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

James was a loving father and grandfather, skilled woodworker, avid fisherman and camper, and motorcycle enthusiast. He also served in the United States Army National Guard.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Taylor; father, James Alton Taylor; mother, Dorthy Posey Taylor; brothers, Kevin Dupree, Tommy Dupree; sisters, Sheila Taylor Bordelon and Janie Rowton; and grandson, Mitchell Dakota Taylor.

Survivors include his son, James Bradley Taylor and daughter-in-law, Connie; grandchildren, Kendal, Sumer and Kyler; son, John Brent Taylor and daughter-in-law, Julie; grandchildren, Amelia, John and Waylon; great granddaughter, Sloan; and sisters, Barbara Sandifer, Gail Sims and Martha Dupree.
