"He measured his success not by titles or achievements, but by the life he built for his daughters-raising them together, in one home, surrounded by consistency and love."
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Howell Tolbert; two daughters, Jaimie Tolbert Cooper (Brandon), and EmmaLee Tolbert (Chase Crouch); sister, Melissa Tolbert; and two grandchildren, Winter and Summer Cooper.
A private family service will be held for James after Christmas.
