James M. Vaughn Jr. 73yo, was born on June 6, 1952 to the late James Vaughn Sr. and Mable AnnaLee Rembert Vaughn of Sumter, SC. James passed away August 17, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Fl. James attended Moore Elementary, McLaurin Middle School and Edmunds High School, where he graduated in May, 1971. On July 2, 1972 to July 31, 1992; he proudly and honorably served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring at Pope AFB, North Carolina. After retiring from the Air Force, James continued working at MacDill AFB Commissary in Tampa,Fl for 24 years as an Environmental Supervisor. Throughout the years of his life, James enjoyed socializing with friends, playing dominos, fishing, barbequing, doing yard work, home improvements, watching sports, playing the lottery and spending time his surviving wife Kingnapa Vaughn of Tampa, Fl and close family and friends.

James M. Vaughn Jr. is preceded in death by three sisters, Marjorie Ann Vaughn, Jannie Mae Conyers, Sharon Denise Kemp and one brother, Daniel Obediah Vaughn all of Sumter, SC.

Siblings left to cherish his precious memories; his two sisters, Tonia Angela Vaughn Fair of Columbia, SC; Tiki Michelle Victoria Vaughn of Sumter, SC; one brother/best friend James Leroy (Rossie) Brunson of Baltimore, MD.

Children left to cherish his precious memories; his two sons, James (Jazmine) Plowden of Killeen, TX; Stephen (Nicole) Vaughn of Charlotte, NC; four daughters, Gina (Eric) Vaughn Hardin of Clarksville, Tennessee; LaShaunda Monique Vaughn of Tampa, FL; Katrina Renee Vaughn of Tampa, FL; La'Rina Ty Vaughn of Tampa,FL; Eight grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved unconditionally along with an abundance of friends.
