James Darius Vaught, 75, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at Bowers Hospice House. Born May 15, 1950, in Pemberton, James was the son of the late Royal and Sarah Vaught. Besides his parents James is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Vaught and a son, Timothy Mark Vaught and is the last remining of his siblings.
Survivors include his sons, Charles Scott Vaught and his wife Melissa of Beckley and James D. Vaught and his wife Bina of Randolph and Lee Co, NC; grandchildren, Shanell Martin, Tia Vaught, Nathaniel Vaught, Acelin Vaught, Jordon Vaught, Jessica Wriston and Ashley Palmieri; extended grandchildren, B. Persinger, Makayla Lucas, Logan Persinger and Caleb Persinger along with numerous other family and friends.
Funeral service will be 1pm, Friday, June 27, 2025, at Calfee Funeral Home with Harold Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Logan Persinger, Jacob Lucas, John Gray and Tamir Wright.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to his niece, Melissa Gray and her husband John for spending time with James at Hospice and always being there for the family.
