James L. Watson (Jim) was born in Wynnewood, OK, on March 9, 1942, to Ray and Margaret Watson.
He grew up in and graduated Wynnewood High School in 1960. He joined the Air Force in 1960 and served 4 years. He graduated from East Central State in 1968 with a degree in Elementary Education. He met and married Karen Vandegriff in 1968. They had two sons, J. Todd and his wife Angela, and Chris of the home. They have a grandson, Cody and his wife Brittany and one granddaughter, Holly Montgomery. He has a brother Don Watson, sister, Margaret Roper. His best friend and hunting buddy Doyle Kelso. Jim was a teacher for 6 years and assistant principal for 4 at Townsend Elementary in Mid-Del School District. He was Principal at Banner Elementary from 1978-1994 and then Principal at Del City Elementary from 1994-2000. He retired in February of 2000 due to health problems.
