JAMES ROBERT WATSON, age 46, of Decherd, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, November 3, 2025, at TriStar Skyline in Nashville, Tenn., following a brief illness. Mr. Watson was born in Winchester, Tenn., on March 12, 1979, to Twila Counts Watson and the late William Watson. Mr. Watson was a 1998 graduate of Franklin County High School. He was employed as a carpenter working in the residential construction field for most of his working years. Mr. Watson loved anything to do with the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming and having cookouts with his family and friends. He was an avid U.T. Football fan, Jeff Gordon NASCAR fan and watching wrestling. He was a loving brother, father and uncle. He will be remembered for his soft spoken nature and his wonderful "crazy" sense of humor. He was still trying to make his family laugh when he was so sick in the hospital he could barely talk. He will be greatly missed by all of them.

In addition to his father, Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents; Betty and George Counts and Paternal Grandparents; Katheryn and John Watson.

He is survived by his son, William (Gracie) Watson of Manchester, mother, Twila Watson of Winchester, sister, Brenda (Phillip) Hall of Winchester, former wife and mother of his son, William, Lavernia Shetters of Sherwood and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, November 6, 2025, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services, LLC with Bro. John Lee, officiating.

Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 P.M. Thursday prior to the service at 3:00.

Interment will follow at Green Cemetery in Belvidere.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Mr. Watson's memory by contacting Grant Funeral Services.
