James R. Weaver, age 85, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 19, 2025 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 18 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7:00 P.M. There will also be visitation at St. Lawrence from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass on Friday.

James was born November 12, 1940 in Wisconsin Rapids to Granville and Monona (McKee) Weaver. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1959. He married Dawn Mueller on May 30, 1987 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. He served his country in the United States Army from 1963-1965.

James worked at Consolidated Papers, Dempze Cranberry Marsh, and Ore-Ida. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his bicycle. In later years, he loved sitting on the front deck watching the birds at the feeder and feeding the chipmunks. He was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

James in survived by two brothers: John Weaver and Tom Weaver; three sisters: Donna Dachel, Judith Konopa, and Marla Weaver; two brothers-in-law: Gary (Sue) Mueller and Todd (Nancy) Mueller; two sisters-in-law: Mary Weaver and Marla Mueller; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dawn; brother Bill Weaver; sister-in-law Donna Hofschild; and brothers-in-law: Joe Dachel and Robert Hofschild.
