James "Jim" E. Weist, 75, of Mount Laurel, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2022. Devoted husband to Helen Weist (nee Brown) for 49 years. Dear father to Bryan Weist (Lisa), Tracy Weist and Jamie Hamilton (Jeffrey). Beloved Opa and Pop Pop to Zachary, Ava, Jacob, Brynlee and Reese. Brother to Carol Snyder (George), Deborah McLaughlin and the late Robert Weist (Joan). Son of the late Charles Sudler Weist and the late Dorothy Weist (nee Gladney). Jim will be missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jim was a proud US Marine Corps Veteran. After serving his country, Jim and his father founded the Sud Weist Auto Sales Company in Maple Shade, where he proudly owned and operated for over 45 years. When he wasn't working, he could be found on the Ramblewood Golf Course with his friends every Thursday or down the shore in Brigantine with his family.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, April 22nd from 10-12pm, at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main Street. His Life Celebration Service will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Mount Laurel Cemetery. Because Jim loved animals, donations in his memory may be made to the Burlington County Animal Shelter.
