James Lloyd Wheeler, 75, of Ridgeway, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
James was born on July 27, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to Harry W. and Pauline M. (Carr) Wheeler, Jr. He graduated from Lawson High School in Lawson, Missouri in 1967. He became the proud daddy to his baby girl Angela Lynne in October 1966.
James was an avid race fan of Thunder Valley Drag Way in Bethany, Missouri. You would find him there every race day helping out. He owned his own business, J's Auto Trim and Upholstery Shop. When it came to restoring old hot rods, he was a pro. People came from all over just for his amazing work. He also worked for over 22 years at Johnson Controls in Albany, Missouri.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of over 20 years, Kristina. He is survived by his Baby Girl, Angela Clevenger of Excelsior Springs, MO; grandsons, Kyle, Marek, and Lance Pasieniuk of Kennebunk, ME, and Cody Clevenger of Excelsior Springs, MO; great grandkids, Remi and Rosie; Kristina's sons, Derek Minter and Lexy of Topeka, KS, and Jeremy Christopherson of New Market, IA; his schnauzers, Oscar and Jake; and grand dog, Tessa.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Roberson Funeral Home, 1107 S. 25th St. Bethany, MO 64424. A visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ridgeway, MO. Memorials and contributions are suggested to the Rose Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be left ta www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
