James Samuel Wright, 82, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Townville, he was the son of the late Samuel Harrison and Lula Ruby Brown Wright. He received an associate degree from Forrest College in Accounting. He retired from TTI, (formerly Singer and Ryobi) with 43 years of service. Following retirement, he and Barbara enjoyed domestic and international travel. He enjoyed attending events with his family and was a Clemson fan. James attended Oakwood Baptist Church for 45 years. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Barbara Owens Wright; sister, Joyce W. Lyles; brother, Reggie Wright (Jan); special niece, Dianne Sandifer (John); special nephew, Hank Lyles (Sheri); nephew, Jason Cobb; great niece, Kelly Geiger (Caleb); great nephews, Sam Sandifer (Bailee) and Brent Cobb; great-great nieces, Mary Ellison Geiger, Avery Geiger, and Palmer Sandifer; and a great-great nephew, John Ripp Sandifer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Laurie Whitfield Wright. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 14, at Oakwood Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Michael Jones and Pastor Cory Bernheisel. Burial will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, 304 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. Sullivan-King Mortuary
