James Young Obituary
James was born in Fayetteville, NC on June 7, 1949 and was the son of the late Walter E. and Nancy Lee (Swartz) Young. He graduated from William Penn Senior High School in York Class of 1967, attended University of Tennessee, and earned his master's degree from University of West Virginia. James worked for Amoco Oil Co. in Houston, TX but came home to York, PA to take over the family business, James Interiors. He also loved to play the fiddle for his family and friends and was a lifetime member of Prince Athletic Association in York.
In addition to his loving wife Barbara, James is survived by his daughter Melissa King and husband Ben of Felton; and his grandson Isaiah King and partner Amy Green.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately by the family.
The Young Family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of 5th South at WellSpan York Hospital for the care and compassion they provided to James.
Memorial contributions in James' memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601 or to Hospice & Community Care, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy, PA 17552.
