James J. Zawadzki, 95, of San Diego, a retired 23-year veteran of the United States Air Force died Thursday, March 20th, 2025. Born in Holyoke, MA, he joined the military in 1947 and being assigned to many parts of the country and overseas. James moved his family to San Diego in 1974 as he began his new career with General Dynamics. He was a resident of this city for the past 51 years.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
James was preceded in death by his son Jerome and grandson Paul Lattman in 2014, both from San Diego.
He leaves his wife Marianne of 73 years, four sons Andrew of Albuquerque, NM, Chris of Conyers, GA, Nick of San Diego, Jeff of San Diego, two daughters, Laura LiMandri of San Diego and Angela of Edmonton, Canada, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A viewing at Featheringill Mortuary on Monday, March 31st from 4:00-6:00pm followed by a rosary from 6:30-8:00pm.
The funeral will be Tuesday morning April 1st at 11:00am at St. Therese Parish in San Diego. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in San Diego.
