Funeral services for Jamie Scott Purvis, 62, of Butler will be held Monday, December 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Butler Memorial Cemetery. Scott passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Atrium-Navicent Health Care. He was of the Baptist faith and a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Purvis, Sr and Annie McCall Purvis, a brother, Tommy Purvis, Jr., and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Purvis.
Survivors include one son, Jody Scott Purvis (Amber) of Butler; one brother, John Purvis (Pam) of Micanopy, FL; two sisters, Joan Whitaker (Rev. Bobby) of Colquitt and Judy Lawson (Dean) of Butler; three grandchildren, Landon Morgan, Hannah Purvis and Jody Purvis, Jr. of Butler; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church.
