Mrs. Jamie Middleton Rhodus, 82, of Kirksville, the widow of Roger Lee Rhodus, passed away Tuesday evening, August 5, 2025, at Baptist Health in Lexington.
Jamie was born in Richmond, Kentucky on April 3, 1943, the daughter of the late James "Turkey" and Mary Elizabeth Cates Middleton. She was the retired cafeteria manager at Madison Middle School. Previously she had worked in the cafeteria of Clark-Moores Middle School. In addition, Jamie was a homemaker who dearly loved her family. She enjoyed collecting bells and was an excellent cook.
Serving in the school system she prepared countless meals for students that are now grown adults. Jamie would also bake wonderful cakes and desserts, especially at Christmas. She loved her church and church family as a member of The Richmond House of Prayer.
Survivors include two daughters: Janice Lee Reece (Darrell) and Rita Carol Creech; daughter-in-law: Judy Rhodus; one brother: Jimmy Middleton (Teresa); ;one sister: Phyllis Jean Sproles (Wayne); four grandchildren: LeeAnn Shepperson (Josh), James Cecil Rhodus (Erin), Jared Ray Creech (Sierra) and Melissa Conatser (Shawn); five great-grandchildren: Makenna Shepperson, Hunter Shepperson, Chesney Creech, Chris Harrison (Madison) and Nick Conatser; brothers and sisters-in-law: Roy and Geneva Rhodus, Randy and Barbara Rhodus, Linda and Joey Hutchins and Martharene Maupin as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews cousins and dear friends.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Roger Dale Rhodus; her brother: Ricky Middleton and sister: Jennie Cox.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Saturday morning, August 9, 2025, at The Richmond House of Prayer (Currently Meeting in their temporary home in the Richmond Mall). Pastor Dylan Ballard and Pastor Greg King will officiate the service. Special comments will be made by Cody Hutchins. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street. Visitation will resume at 9:00 AM Saturday morning at the church meeting space in the Richmond Mall.
Pallbearers are Darrell Reece, Jared Creech, James Rhodus, Josh Shepperson, Hunter Shepperson, Jimmy Middleton, Chris Harrison and Nick Konatser.
Honorary Pallbearers are Makenna Shepperson, Mike Estes, Don Moore, Little Ricky Middleton, Michael Sproles, Paul David Cox, Jerry Rhodus, Jimbo Middleton, Ethan Middleton, Erica Rhodus, Joey Hutchins and Johnny Rhodus.
Donations may be made to The Richmond House of Prayer-Building Fund or to Bluegrass Hospice Care in Lexington.
