Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Jamie Lee Usher, 42, of Charlotte, NC entered his heavenly home Friday, October 13, 2023. Born July 28, 1981, in Bennettsville, SC. He is the son of Linda and Tommy Hawkins of Salisbury and Woodrow and Betty Usher of Bennettsville, SC. He chose a lifelong career in construction and carpentry. He was employed with Danny Medlin Windows LLC in Charlotte. He loved and played many sports but throwing a fast pitch over the West Rowan diamond was his favorite. He was an avid Tarheel fan, and the Dallas Cowboys was his team. Yet he never neglected his hometown, Panthers. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and filling his plate with Mama's cooking. He encompassed the true meaning of love, and he shared it so effortlessly. From a young age, Jamie had a golden heart, and a pure kind-hearted soul. He was always there to lend a listening ear, dance his heart out, or flash his big warm smile. The world needed a Jamie, someone who despite their own struggles fought to keep peace and happiness within.
He loved the Lord and could bless a meal like a preacher. He enjoyed sharing his faith and love for the Lord with all whom he encountered any chance he had. His soul was pure, that's why the devil fought so hard to claim him. The devil stole his joy and cheated him out of a life he fought so hard to live. Yet, Jamie won the battle when Jesus took him home. However, God prevailed."Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" Matthew 1:28. He is now living the life he longed for. I can only imagine the smiles on the faces of those who have gone before. Especially our sweet baby angel Jacob. What a family reunion in Glory Land this must be.
He leaves behind many loved ones who will love and miss him tremendously. His big smile, tight hugs, laughter, and so much more. In addition to his parents Woodrow Usher and Linda Hawkins he leaves behind his God Mother Dorothy Lee Hause of Gaffney SC. His lifelong friend, his big brother, Jeffery Scott Usher, whose heart is forever broken. The love of his life Autumn Parker. Jaylee, Cayden, Braylon, Devin and Katelyn Usher, and Jadon Moore; Step sisters: Audrey Usher Reed of California, Marie Pope of Washington, Holly Hawkins Williams, Heather Hawkins of Arkansas, Melissa Smith Myers, Tammy Adney, and Rhonda Locklear; Stepbrother: Jonathan Pierce of Bennetsville, SC.
Though these times are long and weary, we find strength in the words of our God above. In John 14:1-3 it states, "Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may also be."
A celebration of life will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The family will be receiving friends and family following the service.
