Jan Lynn Elliott, 73, of Monticello, passed away on July 24, 2025 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.
She was born on July 11, 1952 in Lafayette to the late Donald A. and Arlene R (Peters) Darnstaedt. She married Harrel Elliott and he preceded her in death.
She was a 1970 graduate of Twin Lakes High School and received her bachelor's degree from Manchester College. Jan worked many years as a cashier at Kroger but also later worked at Ship and Dip and Indiana Beach. She enjoyed shopping, needle point and the regular class of 1970 lunch meetings. She especially looked forward to visiting her son and grandsons.
She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, John "JP" (Megan) Ochs of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, John (Joyce) Darnstaedt of Monticello; grandsons, Colton and Dean; niece, Jillian (Phillip) Cornelius of Indianapolis.
Visitation will be from 10:30 am until 11:30 am Monday, August 4, 2025 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Justin Cason of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Monticello United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
