Jane Ann Beebe (Gorby), 86, of East Sparta passed away on Thursday October 19, 2023. Jane, originally from Negley OH, was born October 3, 1937 and lived most of her life in Canton. After graduating from East Palestine High School, she attended nursing school, graduating from the Aultman School of Nursing in 1958. She met her husband Richard (Dick) in Canton and the two were married in 1959. Jane was a registered nurse at Aultman Hospital for her entire career, working in the psychiatric ward, as head nurse in the emergency room, and later in employee health. She retired in 1999. Jane loved her husband, her family, all children, animals, and gardening. She was particularly fond of flowers and could often be found planting, weeding or watering her flower beds.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, her parents Sherman and Velma (Mahon) Gorby, her sister Dorothy and her brother Richard. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Cash and Ron Harrison of Florida; son and daughter-in-law Chris Beebe and Andi Michelson of East Sparta; son John Beebe of Canton; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters Karen King and Cathy Ross, and brothers George Gorby and Greg Gorby.
Calling hours will be at the North Canton Church of Christ, 1301 East Maple, North Canton OH on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements. To share a memory, please visit the funeral home's web site.
