Leroy Abel Obituary

He was a self employed carpenter and especially enjoyed installing drywall and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, the former Betty J. Smitley, whom he married August 23, 1966. Also surviving are his children Betti Jo (Brad) Mitchell of Bolivar, John E. (Fannie) Abel of Ragersville and Bobbi J. Abel of Mineral City; 7 grandchildren James, Angelina, Carissa, Jaymason, Russell, Corbin, Michael and a brother Donald Abel of Mineral City.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers Clarence, John and Wilbert and 2 sisters Bertha and Deborah.
In keeping with Leroy's wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Following services, a Celebration of Life and time of sharing will be held until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A meal and additional time of sharing will follow from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the New Cumberland Community Center.
