Jane Broderick Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 30, 2025.
Jane Elizabeth Broderick, 61, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Osceola, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee. Family will greet guests at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. Jane will be interred in Holy Cross Cemetery in Elkhart following a luncheon at the church.
Jane grew up in Waukee and graduated from Dowling High School in 1982. Shortly after high school, she began raising her family and devoted herself to being a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and loved baking treats for her family.
Jane enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time outdoors and taking in the beauty of nature. She was known for her ornery sense of humor and quick wit, always ready with a bit of sarcasm and a loving tease for those she cared about. Beneath her playful spirit was a deep love for her family and friends.
Jane is survived by her mother, Patricia Broderick; husband, Tim Hockey; daughters: Nicole (Michael) Herber, Sydney Asher, and Brooke Hockey; grandchildren: Owen, Jack, and Claire Herber; sister, Laura Van Valkenburg; brother, Dan Broderick; and a niece, Ava Van Valkenburg.
She was preceded by her father, Richard Broderick; sister, Joan Broderick; and a sister in-law, Val Gramlich.
Memorials may be directed to St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee.
