Jane Frances Egert

Jane Frances Egert of Warrenville, IL, died peacefully on January 13th at the age of 89, just shy of her 90th birthday.
Jane was born on February 9th, 1935, in Kewanee, IL, to Helen and Leonard Engel. She married James Egert of Geneseo, IL, in 1958. After a few years in Weston, IL, (now Fermi National Laboratory) moved to Warrenville, IL. The couple welcomed 6 children into their home.
Jane is survived by her children, Gene (Cheryl) Egert of West Chicago, Stephen (Alexis) Egert of Burr Ridge, Sheila (Mitchell) Belon of Geneva, Julie (Michael) Hunnewinkel of St. Charles, Sue (Mike) Rasmussen, and Shawn (Karen) Egert of Yorkville, her brother John (Bonnie) Engel of Davenport IA, along with 15 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Egert, her sisters Connie (Bob) Laschanzky, Janet (Larry) Freeman, and her 2 grandchildren Andrew Rasmussen and Nathan Egert.
Her children remember her as a loving, kind, patient, and gentle mother who was always there for them, patiently guiding them in life, and loving each of them with all her heart. She will be remembered for her beautiful flower gardens, where she loved to spend time and watch the birds.
Jane enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved to take for lunch dates at some of her favorite places (China House, Taco Bell, Burger King and Old Country Buffet). She also savored her quiet evenings at home while watching her favorite show, Dancing with the Stars. She was an active and devout member of St. Irene Church for the past 60 years, and often volunteered with several non-profit groups in Warrenville – most notably the Warrenville Historical Society. Jane also loved lunch and other outings with friends, along with various Warrenville events at Cerny Park near her home. She was blessed to have many close, and loving friends.
The Visitation will be at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home in Naperville on Monday, January 20th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 21st at St. Irene Church in Warrenville. The burial will be at Warrenville Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jane's life.
