With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jane Frances (nee Blank) Katenkamp, who left this world on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the age of 87. Jane was born on December 9, 1937 to the late Frank A. and Marcella (nee Pieper) Blank, a spirited soul who lived a life brimming with love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband, John "Jack" Katenkamp, who was the love of her life. Together, they crafted a beautiful journey filled with love and laughter, a legacy that will forever inspire all who knew them. She is survived by her devoted children, Judy (Brian) Mosher, Jim Katenkamp, Jerry (Barb) Katenkamp, Joe (Tina) Katenkamp, and her daughter-in-law, Beth (Doug) Cope. Jane's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Paul, Stephen, Anne, Mary, Elle, Sarah, Nicole, Luke, Emily, Olivia, Jolie, and Erica, along with her great-grandchildren: Adrienne, Brooklyn, and Caleb. Jane was the dear sister of late Lawrence Blank, late Reverend Russell Blank, late Mary Ellen Pfaffinger Molgaard and Joseph (Bobbie) Blank. Each of these hearts carries forward the warmth and kindness Jane so freely shared.

Jane's life was characterized by her deep compassion for others, reflected in her involvement with organizations like Prison Marriage Encounter and National Marriage Encounter, which aimed to strengthen relationships and enrich lives. She touched countless hearts, always nurturing the bonds of love and family that were at the core of who she was.

A true lover of life, Jane found joy in the simple pleasures. She cherished the laughter of family gatherings, the warmth of winters spent in Florida, and the delight of baking and sewing. Her annual Christmas cards were a testament to her creativity, and evenings spent playing Rummikub brought out her competitive spirit in the best of ways. Jane's adventurous spirit took her on travels that filled her life with memories, but it was Grand Camp, surrounded by loved ones, where she found her heart's truest joy.

Visitation at St. Ann Church, 2900 W. Galbraith Rd., on Friday (October 10) from 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. We will come together as family and friends to share our love, our laughter, and our stories, celebrating the extraordinary woman Jane was. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons will guide us, and her spirit will forever reside in our hearts.

In honor of Jane's enduring spirit and her commitment to helping others, the family invites those wishing to celebrate her life to make donations in her memory to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 644 South 9th St, Lake Wales, FL 33853, or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 in lieu of flowers.

As we reflect on Jane's life, let us remember her not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the time we shared. She was a beacon of love, and though she may have departed from our sight, her gentle spirit will carry on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Earlier today

Dearest Jane.
Thank you for all the wonderful talks we shared on Friday evenings. Your love for Rummikube will continue on in the hearts of people who did not know you. You taught me how to play with just two people and I taught many of my friends and family how to play with two people. Thank you.
Now you can relax and enjoy being pain free. You are in my heart
