Jane Horn Sandefur, age 72, of West Point Indiana ended her earthly journey June 26, 2024. Surrounded by her family and loved ones, she peacefully and gracefully returned home into the arms of our Lord. She was born January 19, 1952, in Lafayette to Kenneth and Agnes (Rosen) Horn of West Point. Jane was a 1970 graduate of Southwestern High School where she enjoyed many activities, especially cheerleading. She married Donnie T. Sandefur, August 25,1973, which she was able to love for 50 years and had two wonderful daughters, Sha Sandefur-Meihls of West Point and Tiffany Sandefur of West Lafayette, IN. She started her career as a dental hygienist and ended it by running her own towing company, JRS Towing and Recovery, which she started in 2002.
Janie was involved in many organizations, including The Order of the Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, ITWA, and was a 4-H leader for 30 plus years, just to name a few. She lived life to the fullest and loved with her whole heart. She was gracious, generous and the most genuine soul who showed kindness to all.
Her smile was contagious, her eyes compassionate, her laughter inviting, her spirit full of joy and her voice calming. To know her was to love her. Her greatest treasure was her faith, family and friends, which she held close to her heart, especially her grandchildren. Janie loved fashion and always wore a hat and pearl bracelets. She loved to read, play the piano, dance, and sing. She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her amazing parties.
Janie is survived by her husband, Donnie T. Sandefur; her daughters, Sha Sandefur-Meihls (Aron), Tiffany Sandefur; and her grandchildren, Hunter Michael Meihls (Kylie), Hayvn LeAnn Meihls, Madison Jane Meihls, Robert Lee McKinney and Tylee Sha McKinney.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Agnes Horn; both brothers, Billy Horn and Ted Horn; her niece, Kelli Jean Horn; as well as aunts and uncles.
Family, Friends and others whose lives Janie touched are invited to Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm,
Tuesday, July 9, 2024, to reminisce and celebrate a life well lived. Eastern Star Rites at 7:30 pm.
The funeral will be held at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10:00 am.
Interment following at the West Point Cemetery.
We ask that in memory and celebration of Janie and her love of fashion, women wear hats and/or pearls.
