Jane Ardith Simms, age 81, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Agape House of Lexington.

Born January 3, 1944, in Anderson, SC, she was preceded in death by her parents Barron and Ollie (Covington) Simms, and her sister, Doris Marie Simms. She is survived by her brother, Barron Robert Simms of Batesburg, SC, and other family members and friends. She had three cats that she loved and adored, Tia, her man Tinker, and Zorro who is still living and will be making his new home with her friend, Mickey Crandall.

Jane received her nursing degree from Clemson University in 1974. Her career as an RN was mostly spent working in pediatrics, which was her love. She worked at Anderson Memorial Hospital from 1974 until she retired in 2007.

She was a lifetime member of Toxaway United Methodist Church where she served in many roles over the years. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School classes, led Bible studies and Children's Church, and served as a Lay Minister from time to time. She volunteered in many areas from community outreach to serving on Toxaway United Methodist Church prayer shawl ministry that sent thousands of prayer shawls all over the world.

Ms. Simms was part of three medical missions through the years which included a Native American reservation in the Midwest, Honduras, and Brazil.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:15 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Freda Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ms. Simms' name to St. Joseph's Indian School, P.O. Box 100, Chamberlain, SD 57325.
