We lost a truly radiant soul on September 18, 2025, when Jane Taylor passed away at the age of 59. While we mourn the loss of an incredible woman, we also celebrate a life filled with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith.
A proud graduate of Pemberton Township High School - Class of 1984, Jane was an active member of the Marching and Concert Band. After graduation, she began her long and dedicated career with Burlington Coat Factory, where she worked for over 30 years.
Jane's greatest joy was her two sons, Dahon and Nevander, whom she loved unconditionally. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her boys! Jane also shared a very special bond with her mother, Judy. One of their favorite things to do together was to seek out Korean restaurants and enjoy dessert from a good bakery-simple pleasures that brought them joy and strengthened their connection.
Jane was a big supporter in the Florence Schools' sports. From Florence Football Pitt Club, Florence Basketball Booster Club to the Florence Marching Band Booster Club, Jane was out there in any capacity that was needed. And for that, the neighborhood looked at her as a mother figure.
Jane was a devoted Christian whose love for the Lord guided every aspect of her life. She found joy in serving others and was a cherished member of Tabernacle Church of Christ in Tabernacle, NJ. Her presence in the congregation was a source of light and encouragement, and her faith was evident in the way she lived-with kindness, humility, and love.
Jane had a passionate appetite for good food and good company. She delighted in discovering new restaurants and wineries, exploring different cultures, and frequenting local farmers' markets for the freshest ingredients. She especially enjoyed drinking tea and visiting the Tea House during the Christmas holiday-a tradition she always looked forward to.
Jane was known for her warmth, generosity, and her ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the friendships she nurtured, and the quiet strength she carried through every season of life. She preferred to operate outside the spotlight, but her quiet dedication, reliability, and generous spirit made her a steadfast presence in the lives of many.
Jane is preceded in death by her father, Mr. Lewis H. Whitfield. She is survived by her mother, Judy Whitfield; her beloved sons, Dahon Taylor and Nevander Taylor; sister, Ruby Whitfield; brother, Tyrone Battles (Wife, Gloria Battles); aunts, Louise Whitfield and Debra Whitfield; niece, Brittany Lemmond; nephews, Tyrone Battles Jr. and Brandon Battles; and her great-nephew, Kajuan Ringo Jr.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church community, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains-radiant, faithful, and full of love.
A celebration of Jane's life will be held on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025 at the On the Wings of Love Church, 348 West Fourth Street, Florence, NJ 08518 with a viewing beginning at 10:30 am with a service immediately following. Private burial service will be held immediately after.
