Jane Worley Obituary

Jane was a devout Christian, teaching Sunday School as a teenager to underprivileged children of Lumpkin County, followed by forty years of teaching Sunday School to children in Cobb County. Jane was an active homemaker who enjoyed gardening, bridge, reading, and square dancing. Jane and her husband Bill enjoyed dancing for twenty-five years in the Atlanta area.
Jane loved children and was a devoted grandmother who spent many happy years with her three beautiful granddaughters and grandson. Her smile and her cheerful attitude made her time with them a joy for her and for them.
Jane is survived by her soul mate, William Worley; sons Charles (Aimee) Worley, and David Worley, Marietta; grandson Kevin Worley, Marietta; granddaughters Rachel Worley, Columbus, Stella and Bridget Worley, Lawrenceville; brother William Fry, Dawsonville; sister, Frances Gilreath, Dahlonega; brothers and sisters-in-law Stan and Teresa Worley, Dawsonville, Gary and Sandie Worley, Blacksburg, Virginia; Kathy and Tom Ratcliffe, Waynesville, N.C; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ross Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center for their devoted service to Jane. We also wish to thank Charisse Williams for her many months of loving care for Jane.
A celebration of Jane's life will be held on Sunday, September 21 at the Dahlonega Funeral Home. The family will greet visitors from 1 p.m. until the service at 3 p.m. Interment will follow immediately afterward at the family plot in Memorial Park in Dahlonega.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donate to the Shriners Children's Hospital in her name.
