Janet Basford

Janet Basford of Mount Juliet, Tn passed away unexpectedly January 2, 2026 at age 72.
As a talented seamstress, Janet spent countless hours creating precious, handmade items that will be cherished by her friends and family for generations to come. Beyond her craft, she possessed a deep spirit of advocacy and a devoted heart; she was a passionate supporter of Native American Reservations in South Dakota, a cause she held dear throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lois Cable and her son Nicholas Wade Basford.
She was happiest when all of her family was together. A devoted mother and "Nana" her legacy of love lives on through her surviving family: her son Justin (Angie) Basford; her daughter Jaimie (Anthony) McClanahan and her three grandchildren, Olivia, Kade and Willa who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her best friend and dog, Russell, who was always by her side.
She will be forever remembered for her creativity and the unwavering devotion she had for those she loved.
Visitation will be held at Sellars Mt. Juliet, Saturday January 17, 2026 from 11:00am-2:00pm, with Memorial services to follow at 2:00pm.
