Janet loved working outside in her garden and landscaping the bamboo around her home. She enjoyed history, was an avid reader and supported the Elephant Rescue cause in Thailand.
She is survived by her husband David A. Surtasky of Indiana, Mother Betty (Block) Bayne of New Kensington, sisters Sharon (David) Iacovino of Springdale, and Debbie (David) Murtha of New York.
At Janet's request, all services will be announced at a future date and have been entrusted to the care of the Bowser Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. In lieu of flowers or other tributes, donations to https://gentlegiantselephants.org/ can be made in her name.
