?Janet Buchanan Patterson Tweedie Blair, passed away on November 6, 2018, at age 90 in Marble Falls, Texas. She was born to William and Mary (Patterson) Tweedie on June 28, 1928 in Douglas Lanark, Scotland. Janet and her husband, John Blair, immigrated from Scotland to Ellenville, New York with the dream of starting a new life in 1953. They later settled in Walden, New York. Achieving this dream required hard work and perseverance. Janet helped raise their two children and lovingly cared for her family. Janet celebrated their Scottish heritage through her membership in the Clan Fraser of Newburgh, New York. Janet was honored with title of Past Chief Daughter of the Lady Fraser Lodge, No. 74 of the Daughters of Scotia. To some she was Grammie or Gram, to others she was Nanny, but to all she was a friend. She genuinely loved people and thrived on hearing their stories. Whether sitting on a mall bench or on a plane, if there were people around, she was making friends. Engaging in conversation was never difficult for Janet. Her charming Scottish accent and warm personality drew complete strangers in. For much of her life, Janet committed her time to serving others. She was a caretaker who provided such comfort, joy and companionship to the elderly and ill in their homes. As a private companion, she would often stay overnight and invest many hours in her clients. Many became like family to her. On her favorite days, Janet loved spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. She had an uncanny way of making each one feel important, treasured, and loved. She leaves behind that legacy of unconditional love, genuine selflessness, quiet strength and, of course, a love for sweets. Each time you hear the swell of Scottish bagpipes or enjoy a piece of dessert, may you be flooded with sweet memories of this special lady. Janet leaves behind her daughter Janice Davis and husband Steven of Marble Falls, Texas; son Neil Blair and wife Marie of Montgomery, New York; daughter-in-law Anna Blair of Scotland; grandchildren Jackie (Aaron) Welch, Ryan Blair, Megan Blair, Brianna Blair, Caroline Blair, Stewart (Rebecca) Blair, Jennifer Blair, Lauren (Daniel) Hogenson, Matthew Davis, Kyle (Summer) Davis; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Keagan, Kenzie, Kerryn, Styles, Madilyn, Grady, Elliot, Isla and Leighton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John Blair; step-son David Blair; and sister Jean Miller. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
