Janet E. Gates

Janet E. (Bradburn) Gates, age 89, of Erie, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at her residence. Born in Lawrence, Pa. on June 6, 1936, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Margaret Ann (Pigford) Bradburn.
Janet was a longtime volunteer at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and a Crossing Guard for Iroquois School District. She enjoyed taking long walks, traveling, gardening and secondhand shopping. She loved all animals, especially her cats. She especially enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lance Gates; and a brother Elmer John Bradburn.
Survivors include one sister Pat Hrinbac, her loving daughter Deb (Roger) Metcalfe. A son, Mike (Deb) Hrinbac. One daughter, Heidi Lambert, her husband Malvin, their children Jonathen Gates (Kathryn Lindstrom), and their son, Jonathen. A daughter Jennifer Gates and her son, Dante, and grandchildren, Ashley, Mark and Rachel. Janet's son, Bradley Gates and his children, Aislynn, Elijah, Owen and Alivia. Lance's children, Adam, Jeanette and many grandchildren.
Janet was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. WE LOVE YOU MOM! A Celebration of Life will be held on August 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harborcreek Community Church, 8800 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek, Pa. 16421.
Janet's wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the to the Shriners Children's Erie, 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505. Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Ave. Branch are handling arrangements.
