In Loving Memory of Janet C. Giese

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Cecilia Giese, who departed this life peacefully on July 25, 2025.

Jan was born on March 13, 1966, in Kettering, Ohio. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her kindness, generosity, and lighthearted spirit. She was a beloved sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor, always welcoming others with a warm smile and her signature sense of humor.

A 1984 graduate of Sycamore High School, Jan was a standout athlete who played volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer. She was a proud member of Sycamore's 3,000-point club and served as a lifeguard at Montgomery Pool. Jan went on to earn her bachelor's degree in education from Miami University in 1988.

Following college, Jan pursued a successful career in restaurant management, working in both Cincinnati and Delaware. She brought the same dedication and warmth to her work that she shared with everyone in her life.

Jan was an adventurer, cherished spending time with her family and loved vacations to Gatlinburg, Hilton Head, and Lake Tahoe, as well as memorable "girls-trips" with her sisters. She will be remembered for her joy, athleticism, strength, and love of life.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Clifford "Chip" and Sylvia Giese, and a devoted sister to Mark Giese (Yvette), Karen Heard (Randall), Diane Saunders (the late Robert), Eric Giese (Sandy), Susan Giese (Larry), and the late Laura VonderMeulen (Timothy). She was adored by her twelve nieces and nephews: Samantha, Mitchell, Rachel, Megan, Justin, Kyle, Joshua, Ryan, Kelli, Hannah, Holly, and Hayden, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family invites family and friends to celebrate Janet's life on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Strawser Funeral Home, 9503 Kenwood Rd, Blue Ash, OH 45242. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E Kemper Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249. Interment will follow the mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery, OH. Online condolences may be shared at www.strawserfuneralhome.com.
