Janet Hamilton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Null & Son Funeral Home on Dec. 14, 2025.
Janet Ann Hamilton, of Salem, MO, formerly of Edgar Springs, MO, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 at the age of 87.
She was born on June 26, 1938 in Edgar Springs, MO to the late Emerson Edgar York and Fern (Fipps) York Hayes. On November 5, 1955, she married Frederic "Fred" Hamilton in Licking, MO. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Fred York; a brother-in-law, Hank Montrey, and one sister-in-law, JoAnn Boatman.
On December 12th we lost the heart of our family. Words can't adequately describe the void her passing will create in our lives.
She was the picture of a Proverbs 31 woman. Prayerful, consistent, faithful, selfless, her character above reproach. A blessing to her children, grandkids and anyone who was lucky enough to cross her path. She was the prayer warrior for so many. The intercessor for every need. Her knowledge of God's word was evident in her ability to quote it and stand firm on it.
She served faithfully alongside our dad at the Union Church of Edgar Springs for 55 years. Never losing sight of the mission to disciple others in the knowledge and saving grace of her precious Lord and savior.
Mom longed for heaven. She had for most of her life, a deep yearning for God's presence and fulfillment, and even her eternal home. This alone, brings great peace to her family. We know she is before God. Surrounded by the divine majesty and joining in the heavenly worship. Finally seeing in full the throne room of heaven that she loved to read about in Revelation. She is rejoicing with so many that have gone before her. No more pain. No more sickness, or weakness. And we look forward to that glorious day, when we shall be reunited with her.
Oh death, where is your victory? Oh death, where is your sting? The resurrected king, has resurrected her! 1 Corinthians 15:55
Janet will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes: three daughters, Lisa Nash and husband, Gary of Salem, MO, Karen Newkirk and husband, Mike of Rolla, MO, and Angie Freeman and husband, Chris of McKinney, TX; three sisters, Jean McCluskey and husband, Walt of Edgar Springs, MO, Kay Stevenson of Canton, OH, and Lynn Montrey of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Zander and husband, David, Joshua Nash and wife, Jaimi, Caleb Copeland, Cameron Copeland, Megan Zika and husband, Chris, Brandon Newkirk and wife, Kameron, Emily Freeman Black and husband, Tim, Andrew Freeman and wife, Lexie, and Hannah Freeman; and fourteen great grandchildren, Atticus Zander, Maizi Nash, Adelyn Zika, Ross Zika, Vivienne Zander. Anola Nash, Myla Newkirk, Wilder Newkirk, Eleanor Black, Hallie Freeman, Charlotte Black and three more coming soon.
