Janet Marie Hayes, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, in Oklahoma City. Born on October 1, 1968, in Wood River, Illinois, Janet's life was a testament to the enduring power of faith and family.
Janet, known affectionately to her loved ones as simply "Janet," spent her formative years in the heart of Wood River, where she attended East Alton Wood River High School. Her youthful spirit and kind heart were evident early on, traits that would define her throughout her life.
Janet embraced the role of homemaker with grace and dedication. Her world revolved around her family, and she found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of home life. Janet's loving partnership with her husband, Glover Hayes III, was the cornerstone of their household. Together, they worked side by side, nurturing their family business with the same care and commitment they devoted to raising their children.
Janet's legacy is carried on by her adoring family, including her husband, Glover; her children, Andrew Hayes and his wife Rebeca, Alicia Delossantos and her husband Joe, Glover Hayes IV and his wife Michala, and Jessie Hayes. Her five grandchildren, Joe, Zoey, Braden, Glover Hayes V, and Emmie, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Those who knew Janet were touched by her loving nature, her generous spirit, and her unwavering faith. She was the kind of person who enriched the lives of others simply by being herself. Her warmth and kindness radiated to all corners of her world, from her immediate family to the broader community she held dear.
Janet's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of love, kindness, and faith. Her presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those she has left behind.
As we bid farewell to Janet Marie Hayes, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light to her family, a reminder of the beauty and strength found in love and togetherness. Janet's journey on this earth may have come to a close, but the love she shared will echo through generations to come.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Tryon Cemetery.
