Janet Leigh Hyde, 62 of Fairfield Plantation passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at her daughter's home in Boaz, Alabama surrounded by loved ones.
Janet was born in Rome, GA on November 8, 1961 to Donald E. and Susan Patrick Hyde. She was an honor graduate of Carrollton High School where she received many accolades and awards. She was also a graduate of the University of West Georgia with a bachelor's degree in philosophy (Pre-Law) and a master's degree in Rural and Small Town Planning. At the time of her illness, Janet was employed by Carroll County as the County Planner for Community Development and was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Georgia Association of Zoning Administrators in 2021. Prior to working for Carroll County, she served as Community Development Director for the City of Villa Rica. She also served on the Board of Directors of Keep Carroll Beautiful and was also on the MPA Advisory Board at University of West Georgia and a member of the Twilight Twirlers of Marietta.
Janet had an infinite love of the beach and coffee. She enjoyed baking and shopping too, but above all else her joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Amanda Bohrnsen, and her husband Christian of Boaz, Alabama and her son, Mitchell Gilley, and his wife Lesley of Carrollton, her parents, Donald and Susan Hyde of Fairfield Plantation, six grandchildren, Myles Manders, Jackson Gilley, Peyton Manders, Collin Manders, Tate Gilley, and Brooke Bohrnsen. Janet is also survived by two brothers Sam (Renie) Hyde of Fairfield Plantation and Chris (Amanda) Hyde of Richmond, Virginia. She also leaves two special nephews Jake and Jared Hyde and their families and a special niece, Delaney Hyde of Syracuse, New York and many more extended family members and many friends who were like family to Janet.
A Celebration of life will be observed on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the WPA Center, 590 N Cliff Street in Carrollton at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Jamie Beam officiating.
Janet's family would like to thank all the friends and family and the people at Carroll County for the love and compassion shown to Janet with food, flowers, cards, and visits. We will be eternally grateful to each and every one.

I met Janet at twilight twirlers. We became fast friends. Marching in parades, shopping at the worlds longest yard sale, and even karaokes together. Every time I think of Janet I remember her smile and her giggle. I never heard her raise her voice or degrade anyone.
She was a beautiful spirit.

She was a great friend, and I will never forget all of the fun we had together. These last days Janet and I remembered that those were some of the best days of our lives. She was always one you could count on. She was definitely a genuine person, and I am honored to call her my friend. She loved her family and I wish them peace and fond memories to get them through their grief right now. I will miss you sweet friend and hope to see you later.
