Janet "Jeanette" J. Shoemaker, 83, of Geneseo died on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 30th at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo. Rev. Stephen Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jeanette Shoemaker Memorial Fund. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Geneseo is assisting the family.
Janet Joyce "Jeanette" Polenske was born February 1, 1940 in Madison NE, the daughter of Harold and Margaret (Dupsky) Polenske. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to Ira “Lee” Shoemaker on April 4, 1975 in Geneseo. He survives.
Jeanette had worked as the Laundry Housekeeping Supervisor at Good Samaritan. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo.
Survivors include her husband, Lee; a daughter, Audra Oliver; sons, Dwayne Hajek, Byron Hajek, and Tadd Hajek; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Caroline Grypp; and a brother Harold Polenske.
