Janet Lynn Kramer Parsons (nee Nesbitt), age 69, of Liberty Township, Ohio, passed away on December 16, 2023. She was born on November 16, 1954, in Salem, Ohio, to the late James and Betty (Berresford) Nesbitt. Janet was a compassionate and caring educator, dedicated to her profession for 35 years. She taught in the Geauga County School system and spent many years at Maple Elementary in Chardon, Ohio.
Janet was a graduate of East Palestine High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University and a Master’s degree from Kent State University. She was known for her love of her family, traveling, window shopping, and especially spending time with her grandsons.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 8 years, Brian Parsons; her daughter, Kristen Qualter, and son-in-law, Tom Qualter; her grandsons, Matthew and Owen Qualter; her sister, Nancy Huston, and brother-in-law, Dave Huston; her sister, Linda Votaw, and brother-in-law, John Votaw, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, James Nesbitt, her mother, Betty Nesbitt, and her first husband, David Kramer.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Janet's life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Janet’s name be made to the American Cancer Society or The Holden Arboretum, 9500 Sperry Rd., Kirtland, OH 44094.
