Janet M. Luyke

Janet M. Luyke, a longtime resident of Oradell, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 5, 2025, at the age of 87.
Janet was a registered dietitian who dedicated her career to overseeing school nutrition programs and promoting healthy eating among students. After retiring, she continued to give back to the community as a substitute teacher in local schools and as a CCD teacher at St. Joseph's Church.
Outside of work, Janet enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, yoga, and teaching water aerobics. She especially loved spending her summers at the Oradell Swim Club. Above all, Janet cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren. Her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit made her a beloved friend and neighbor to many in the Oradell community.
Janet was welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Luyke. She is survived by her children, Barbara Foster, Lorraine Fierro, William Foster, and Kathleen Pardo; and her cherished grandchildren, Kyle Pardo, Desirae Nagel, Jenna Fierro, James Fierro, Billy Foster, Danny Foster, Nicholas Foster, Rianna Foster, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear brothers, Philip Celver and Larry Hager.
A memorial Mass will be offered at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Oradell on Friday, October 17th, at 11:00 a.m.
